I’ve never really seen the appeal of Lana Del Rey, her or her music. But the more I’m hearing this on MTV the more I like it.
Her videos always showcase a certain coolness and are always very stylish, with this one having a vintage glam feel. I love the long poker straight hair and beehive with headband, so Fifties.
The video was directed by Anthony Mandler. It starts with Lana doing a reenactment of Marilyn Monroe’s “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” before moving to the audience to see rapper A$AP Rocky who then takes on the role of President Kennedy. All before the music kicks in, so bear with it.
